Role Description The Assistant Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based at Jindal Power Limited’s facilities in Tamnar. The role involves supporting the operation and maintenance of power plant equipment, monitoring system performance, and assisting in troubleshooting technical issues to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. The Assistant Engineer will help implement standard operating procedures, coordinate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams, and contribute to routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and reporting. Daily responsibilities also include maintaining accurate technical documentation, adhering to safety and environmental regulations, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires strong attention to detail, effective communication, and a willingness to learn and work in a dynamic industrial environment.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in electrical, mechanical, or power engineering principles, with the ability to apply them to power plant operations and maintenance.
Knowledge of power generation equipment, control systems, and basic troubleshooting techniques for industrial machinery.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, operating manuals, and maintenance schedules, and prepare clear operational reports.
Familiarity with safety standards, environmental regulations, and best practices in industrial and power plant settings.
Effective teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with engineers, technicians, and operations staff on-site.
Proficiency in using basic computer tools and industrial software for monitoring, documentation, and data analysis.
Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Power, or related discipline) from a recognized institution.
Prior internship or entry-level experience in power, energy, or industrial projects is an advantage, but motivated fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply.
