Role Description The Civil Draftsman will prepare detailed civil engineering drawings and plans based on specifications, sketches, and instructions from engineers and project leads. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and revising 2D and 3D drawings, incorporating design changes, maintaining drawing registers, and ensuring that all plans comply with relevant codes, standards, and MES guidelines. The role involves coordinating with engineers, site teams, and other technical staff to clarify requirements, resolve drawing-related issues, and support accurate construction execution. The Civil Draftsman will also assist in preparing quantity estimates, layouts, and as-built drawings, and in organizing documentation for project records and approvals. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency in civil drafting using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and ability to produce clear, accurate construction drawings.
Sound understanding of civil engineering concepts, building components, and standard detailing practices for structures, roads, and utilities.
Ability to interpret architectural and engineering plans, technical specifications, and survey data, and translate them into detailed drawings.
Good documentation and organizational skills, including maintaining drawing records, version control, and supporting quantity estimation.
Attention to detail, ability to follow established standards and procedures, and commitment to safety and quality in all drafting work.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with engineers, site personnel, and administrative staff in a structured environment.
Diploma or relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or Draftsmanship from a recognized institution; experience with government or defense projects is an advantage.
Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru and adapt to project schedules and priorities as required by Military Engineer Services.
