Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Factory Medical Officer role based at the Asian Paints facility in Ahmedabad. The Factory Medical Officer will provide primary medical care to employees, manage occupational health services, and respond to workplace injuries or medical emergencies. Daily responsibilities include conducting medical examinations, monitoring employee health, maintaining medical records, and coordinating preventive health programs such as vaccinations and wellness initiatives. The role also involves advising on workplace safety from a medical perspective, ensuring compliance with statutory health regulations, and collaborating with HR and safety teams on health-related policies. The Factory Medical Officer will support health education and training for employees and contribute to a culture of safety and well-being within the plant.
Qualifications
Clinical expertise in Medicine and Surgery, with the ability to manage primary care and emergency cases in an industrial setting
Strong Patient Care skills, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up for a wide range of health concerns
Experience in Training employees on health, hygiene, first aid, and emergency response protocols
Ability to work effectively with Physicians and other healthcare professionals, including referrals and coordination of specialized care
Recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and valid registration with the appropriate medical council
Preferred experience in occupational health, industrial medicine, or factory medical practice
Knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations and statutory requirements related to factory health services
Strong communication, documentation, and decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently in a plant environment
