Role Description This part-time remote UI/UX Design role focuses on creating intuitive, engaging digital experiences for pet owners and their animals. The designer will translate product requirements into user flows, wireframes, and fully realized visual designs that align with Furtual’s brand and mission. Day-to-day tasks include crafting mockups, building interactive prototypes, and refining user interfaces based on user research and feedback. The role also involves collaborating with product managers and developers to ensure designs are feasible, accessible, and consistent across platforms. The designer will continuously iterate on designs to improve usability and support the overall product strategy.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong user experience design skills, including User Experience Design (UED) and the ability to create clear user flows and interaction patterns.
Candidates should possess visual design skills, including creating mockups and polished UI assets that are consistent with brand guidelines.
Candidates should possess prototyping skills, including building interactive prototypes to validate concepts and gather stakeholder and user feedback.
Candidates should possess front-end awareness or experience, such as basic Front-End Development knowledge to collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
Relevant qualifications include experience with common design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, or similar), a strong portfolio demonstrating UI/UX work, and familiarity with responsive and mobile-first design.
Additional beneficial qualifications include experience in user research or usability testing, interest in or experience with pet-related products, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote, collaborative environment.
