Job Summary:
We are a fast-growing B2B SaaS company building enterprise-grade platforms for global partners. We are establishing our Hyderabad engineering hub and looking for a driven Software Engineer (Java Backend) to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will work alongside senior engineers to design, build, and maintain scalable microservices, write clean and well-tested code, and contribute to high-availability features for enterprise clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Feature Development: Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
- Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code adhering to standard software development practices, design patterns, and team coding standards.
- Collaborative Execution: Participate actively in sprint planning, task estimation, code reviews, and technical discussions under the guidance of senior engineering lead.
- Database Management: Write efficient SQL queries, optimize indexes, and work with relational database schemas (PostgreSQL / MySQL).
- Testing & Reliability: Embed quality into the development process through robust unit testing (JUnit, Mockito) and integration testing.
- CI/CD & Operations: Collaborate with DevOps and Senior Engineers to support continuous integration, containerization (Docker), and smooth production deployments.
- Debugging & Support: Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve platform bugs and performance bottlenecks in a timely manner.
Required Qualifications:
MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2 to 4 years of solid hands-on core Java backend software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Java (Java 11/17+), Spring Boot, REST APIs, and core Object-Oriented Design principles.
- Strong understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, and Core Computer Science fundamentals.
- Practical experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL) — writing optimized queries, understanding indexing, and schema design.
- Proficiency in unit testing frameworks (JUnit 5, Mockito).
- Hands-on experience with build tools (Maven or Gradle) and version control tools (Git / GitHub / GitLab).
- Basic understanding of containerization (Docker) and backend logging frameworks (SLF4J, Logback, Log4j2).
- Strong problem-solving skills, willingness to learn, and an execution-focused mindset.
- Good verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively in an agile team setup.
NICE TO HAVE
- Exposure to Spring Data JPA / Hibernate and microservices concepts.
- Familiarity with messaging / event-driven platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ) or caching layers (Redis).
- Basic understanding of CI/CD execution pipelines and cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Exposure to web security basics (OAuth2, JWT authentication standards).
