As we prepare for our formal platform launch and continue building our executive leadership team, we’re looking for a Chief Investment Officer to help shape VRAET’s investment philosophy, market framework, and long-term approach to digital asset intelligence.
The Role
The Chief Investment Officer will serve as a senior member of VRAET’s executive leadership team and help define how the company evaluates markets, investment themes, risk, liquidity, and capital flows.
This is not simply a portfolio management position.
The CIO will work closely with our executive, research, technology, data, and market intelligence teams to translate institutional investment thinking into practical frameworks that can support VRAET’s intelligence products, research, market conditions, and signal development.
You’ll bring an investor’s perspective to the organization while helping ensure that the intelligence we produce is grounded in disciplined market analysis rather than short-term market noise.
What You’ll Do
Develop and lead VRAET’s overall investment and market strategy framework.
Establish a disciplined approach to evaluating digital assets, market structure, liquidity, capital flows, macroeconomic conditions, volatility, and risk.
Work closely with Research & Market Intelligence to identify important market themes, structural changes, and emerging investment opportunities.
Partner with Technology and Data teams to help define the institutional logic behind VRAET’s market intelligence and signal systems.
Evaluate how macroeconomic developments, regulatory events, institutional positioning, and on-chain activity may affect digital asset markets.
Develop investment frameworks that help distinguish meaningful market signals from short-term noise.
Help establish internal standards for market research, investment theses, scenario analysis, and risk assessment.
Provide executive-level perspective on market conditions and major developments affecting Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, stablecoins, and the broader digital asset ecosystem.
Support the development of VRAET’s proprietary market intelligence, capital-flow analysis, and private signal products.
Collaborate with leadership on long-term company strategy, product positioning, partnerships, and institutional market opportunities.
Represent VRAET in selected executive meetings, strategic partnerships, industry discussions, and company events.
Help build and mentor a high-performing investment research and market intelligence organization as the company grows.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for an experienced investment leader who combines strong market judgment with the ability to build structured decision-making frameworks.
You may come from asset management, hedge funds, investment banking, institutional investing, private markets, trading, research, fintech, or another environment where capital allocation and risk management are central to decision-making.
Strong candidates will typically bring:
Significant experience in investment management, portfolio strategy, institutional research, asset allocation, trading, or financial markets.
Senior leadership experience with responsibility for investment decisions, research teams, strategy, or capital allocation.
Strong understanding of risk management, portfolio construction, liquidity, market structure, and macroeconomic analysis.
The ability to evaluate complex information and turn it into clear investment conclusions.
Experience working across investment, research, technology, data, or product teams.
Strong executive communication skills and the ability to explain complex market concepts clearly.
A disciplined, evidence-based approach to investment decisions.
Comfort operating in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment where systems and processes are still being built.
Digital Asset Experience
Deep cryptocurrency experience is valuable, but it is not the only background we will consider.
We are especially interested in experienced investment leaders who understand how to evaluate markets, manage risk, allocate capital, and build institutional investment processes.
Candidates coming from traditional finance who are interested in applying that experience to digital assets are encouraged to apply.
For qualified final-stage candidates, VRAET can provide structured product and digital asset market training focused on our platform, market framework, options environment, and core signal system.
Leadership Style
The right CIO for VRAET should be comfortable challenging assumptions, working with incomplete information, and making decisions without losing discipline.
We value leaders who are analytical without becoming overly theoretical, decisive without being reckless, and confident enough to change their view when the data changes.
You should also be comfortable working directly with founders, board members, senior executives, technical teams, and market researchers.
Work Environment
VRAET is a remote-first company.
Our Global Hub is located at 801 Brickell Avenue in Miami, Florida, but this role can be performed remotely within the United States.
Some travel may be required for executive meetings, company events, strategic partnerships, or industry conferences. Travel frequency is expected to be limited, and company-related travel expenses are covered by VRAET.
Our team works across multiple time zones, so flexibility and strong remote communication skills are important.
