Role Description The SVP Finance is a full-time remote role responsible for leading the overall financial strategy, planning, and stewardship of the organization. This role oversees budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modeling to support sustainable growth and strategic initiatives. The SVP Finance will manage financial reporting, ensure accuracy of financial statements, and maintain robust controls and compliance with applicable standards and regulations. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities, guiding resource allocation, and providing clear insights to executive leadership for decision-making. The role also collaborates cross-functionally with editorial, operations, and marketing teams to align financial priorities with business objectives and support investment in key content and media initiatives.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Finance and Financial Planning skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial modeling.
Candidates should possess expertise in Financial Statements and Financial Reporting, with the ability to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of reports.
Candidates should possess advanced Analytical Skills to interpret financial data, assess performance trends, and support data-informed decisions.
Extensive experience in senior finance leadership roles, ideally at media, digital publishing, or growth-oriented organizations.
Proficiency with modern financial systems, ERP tools, and data analysis software.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop diverse, distributed teams in a remote environment.
Advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or equivalent are beneficial.
