About APARC
APARC is a planning and research consultancy working with Central and State Governments, PSUs and forest departments across India on urban planning, GIS, socio-economic studies, Social Impact Assessment, and environment and wildlife planning.
About the Role
We're looking for a Biodiversity Expert to lead field studies and technical reporting on our ecology and conservation projects, including greenbelt biodiversity assessments for industry, coral and marine ecosystem studies, and Eco-Sensitive Zone (ESZ) Zonal Master Plans.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and conduct biodiversity assessments: flora and fauna surveys, species inventories, habitat mapping
• Carry out field sampling and data analysis (diversity indices, IVI, density, abundance)
• Prepare technical reports, management plans and conservation recommendations
• Contribute biodiversity inputs to ESZ Zonal Master Plans, Protected Area management plans and EIA/SIA studies
• Coordinate with Forest Departments, PSU clients and research institutions
• Support proposal and tender preparation with technical write-ups and methodology
• Guide junior field staff and surveyors
Qualifications
• M.Sc. / Ph.D. in Botany, Zoology, Environmental Science, Wildlife Science, Forestry or Ecology
• 3–5+ years of hands-on biodiversity field survey experience
• Strong knowledge of IUCN Red List, Wildlife (Protection) Act and Indian forest regulations
• Working knowledge of GIS (QGIS/ArcGIS) preferred
• Experience with government, forest department or PSU projects is a strong plus
• Willingness to travel for fieldwork across India
