Role Overview
The Building Consultant / Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for conducting in-depth building inspections, project planning, quantity and cost estimation, and providing construction-related expertise. The role may also involve equipment and contents appraisal, fund analysis, structural inspections, document reviews, and preparation of project-related reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed building and structural inspections.
- Perform quantity take-offs and cost estimations.
- Prepare and review BOQs, RFIs, and construction documents.
- Review project drawings, specifications, contracts, and related documentation.
- Support project planning, budgeting, and cost analysis.
- Evaluate construction materials, equipment, and contents where required.
- Assist with fund analysis and project-related assessments.
- Coordinate with project teams and stakeholders to ensure accurate documentation and reporting.
Key Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- MBA in Construction/Project Management is preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in building consulting, quantity surveying, construction estimation, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
- Strong experience in quantity estimation, cost estimation, quantity take-offs, BOQs, RFIs, and document reviews.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Experience with MS Project and Primavera P6 is preferred.
- Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working independently in a remote environment.
