Senior Application Performance Analyst - Remote

2. About the Opportunity:
The Senior Application Performance Analyst is responsible for analyzing and improving application performance in complex computing environments. This role directly impacts the efficiency and reliability of technical solutions that support healthcare services and requires expertise in application tuning and code review to optimize system operations.
3. Responsibilities:
Conduct detailed performance analysis using tools such as Strobe and DB2 Visualizer to identify code-related performance issues
Utilize SQL and DB2 processing to enhance CPU usage and reduce application run time
Develop and deliver technical code in languages including COBOL, Java, Python, Go, JCL, and REXX
Review application code to provide tuning recommendations
Monitor exception report metrics daily to address anomalies promptly
Share technical knowledge and educate the application performance management team
Assist in managing critical incidents affecting application support
Participate in technology validation through proofs of concept and technology
Mentor less experienced technical team members
Provide around-the-clock technical support for application improvements
Use AI tools daily to improve analysis efficiency and support activities
4. Requirements:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
Over 10 years of experience in application performance with proficiency in tuning large, multi-processor, multi-LPAR, Parallel Sysplex environments
Knowledge of z/OS, Strobe, and monitoring systems such as Omegamon
Proficiency with TSO, ISPF, JCL, and modifying job streams for batch processing
Working knowledge of USS (Unix), CICS, Liberty, DB2, and SQL
Preferred: Experience with High Performance Compute environments, OpenShift, Linux, and Bash
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
Salary range: $112,700 to $193,200 annually based on full-time employment
Compensation is influenced by factors including local labor markets, education, experience, and certifications
