Vice President, Strategic Operations
Location: United States | Full-Time | Remote / Hybrid / On-site

About the Role
We are looking for a Vice President, Strategic Operations to lead strategic operating initiatives and help translate the organization’s business priorities into effective execution.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for connecting business strategy with operational execution, improving organizational effectiveness, establishing operating priorities, and coordinating complex initiatives across functions.
You will work closely with executive leadership and partner across Operations, Product, Technology, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Marketing, Business Development, and other functional teams. The role will have significant influence over strategic planning, operating performance, cross-functional execution, process improvement, resource allocation, and organizational development.
The ideal candidate combines strong strategic thinking with practical operating experience and the ability to turn high-level business objectives into measurable plans, clear accountability, and consistent execution.
Responsibilities
• Lead strategic operations initiatives that support the organization’s business priorities and long-term objectives.
• Work with executive leadership to translate strategic priorities into actionable operating plans, initiatives, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
• Develop and maintain strategic operating plans across key business functions and ensure alignment between organizational priorities and execution.
• Establish operating frameworks, management processes, performance standards, and accountability structures that support scalable growth.
• Coordinate complex cross-functional initiatives involving Operations, Product, Technology, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Marketing, and Business Development.
• Monitor strategic initiatives, identify execution gaps, resolve cross-functional dependencies, and ensure critical priorities remain on track.
• Develop executive-level dashboards, KPIs, operating reports, and performance reviews to provide leadership with clear visibility into business execution.
• Analyze operational and business performance data to identify trends, bottlenecks, resource constraints, and opportunities for improvement.
• Partner with business leaders to improve operating efficiency, organizational effectiveness, resource allocation, and decision-making processes.
• Evaluate existing business processes and identify opportunities to simplify workflows, improve controls, reduce inefficiencies, and increase productivity.
• Lead strategic process improvement and operating model initiatives across departments.
• Establish standardized planning, reporting, review, and escalation processes for major business initiatives.
• Support annual and long-term planning processes, including strategic priorities, operating objectives, resource requirements, and execution roadmaps.
• Conduct business and operational analysis to support executive decision-making, strategic investments, organizational changes, and growth initiatives.
• Identify operational risks and execution challenges associated with major strategic initiatives and coordinate appropriate mitigation plans.
• Partner with Finance and business leaders on budgeting, resource planning, headcount planning, and operating performance management.
• Work with Product and Technology teams to ensure strategic priorities are reflected in product, technology, and platform development plans.
• Support executive leadership in evaluating new markets, business opportunities, partnerships, organizational initiatives, and operational expansion plans.
• Establish governance and operating cadences for major strategic programs, including regular reviews, reporting, issue escalation, and decision-making.
• Develop presentations, analysis, business cases, and strategic recommendations for executive leadership and board-level discussions as required.
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing Strategic Operations function as organizational requirements expand.
• Promote a culture of accountability, disciplined execution, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a senior strategic operations leader who can move comfortably between strategic planning and operational execution and who understands how to turn business priorities into measurable results.
The strongest candidates will typically have:
• 20+ years of progressive experience in strategic operations, business operations, management consulting, corporate strategy, program management, or a related field.
• Significant senior leadership experience as a VP of Strategic Operations, VP of Business Operations, Head of Strategy & Operations, Chief Operating Officer, Director of Strategic Operations, or equivalent role.
• Demonstrated experience translating corporate strategy into operating plans, initiatives, performance objectives, and measurable outcomes.
• Strong understanding of operating models, organizational planning, performance management, process improvement, and cross-functional execution.
• Experience leading complex strategic initiatives involving multiple departments, senior stakeholders, and competing priorities.
• Strong analytical and financial skills, with the ability to evaluate business performance, resource requirements, operational trends, and strategic opportunities.
• Demonstrated experience developing executive dashboards, KPIs, business reviews, operating reports, and strategic presentations.
• Experience improving business processes, operating structures, workflows, governance models, and organizational efficiency.
• Strong project and program management skills, with the ability to manage multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and executive presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex business issues clearly and concisely.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence senior leaders without relying solely on formal authority.
• Strong commercial judgment and understanding of how strategy, operations, financial performance, customer needs, and organizational capabilities interact.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-moving, ambiguous, and build-stage environments.
• Experience hiring, developing, and managing high-performing strategy, operations, or program management teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Operations, Strategy, or a related field required. MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
Experience in cryptocurrency, digital assets, financial services, fintech, payments, brokerage, trading, banking, or technology is a plus, but it is not required.
We are also interested in candidates from management consulting firms, technology companies, financial institutions, SaaS businesses, high-growth companies, and other complex organizations with strong strategic and operational requirements.
Location and Work Arrangement
This position is based in the United States. The company offers remote, hybrid, and on-site working arrangements depending on the individual, location, and business needs.
Travel may be required as needed for executive meetings, strategic planning sessions, business reviews, team meetings, partner discussions, and industry events.
