Vice President, Product Strategy & Operations
Location: United States | Full-Time | Remote / Hybrid / On-site
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer
About the Role
We are looking for a Vice President, Product Strategy & Operations to lead product strategy, operating planning, execution, and performance management across the product organization.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for connecting product strategy with business objectives, establishing scalable product operating processes, and ensuring that product initiatives are prioritized and executed effectively. The VP will work closely with executive leadership and partner with Product, Technology, Operations, Business Development, Marketing, Finance, Compliance, and Risk.
The role requires a combination of product strategy, operational leadership, analytical thinking, and strong execution. You will help define product priorities, improve product operating models, establish performance frameworks, and coordinate cross-functional execution as the organization grows.
Responsibilities
• Lead the development and execution of product strategy in alignment with broader company objectives.
• Translate business priorities, market opportunities, customer needs, and competitive insights into product strategies and operating plans.
• Establish product planning processes, prioritization frameworks, roadmaps, governance, and execution standards.
• Partner with product leadership to define strategic priorities, product portfolios, investment requirements, and development objectives.
• Develop operating models that improve coordination between Product, Engineering, Operations, Business Development, Marketing, and other functions.
• Establish product performance KPIs, dashboards, reporting standards, and executive review processes.
• Monitor product performance, adoption, customer feedback, operational efficiency, and commercial results.
• Identify product and operational bottlenecks and lead initiatives to improve product delivery, quality, scalability, and efficiency.
• Coordinate cross-functional product initiatives from strategic planning through implementation and launch.
• Work closely with Technology and Engineering leadership to align product priorities with technical capabilities, capacity, timelines, and resources.
• Partner with Operations to ensure products can be supported effectively through scalable processes and service models.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Risk, and Legal to incorporate appropriate requirements and controls into product planning and execution.
• Work with Finance to develop product business cases, budgets, resource plans, forecasts, and performance analysis.
• Conduct market and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for new products, product enhancements, and strategic differentiation.
• Develop executive-level product reporting covering performance, priorities, risks, dependencies, and strategic initiatives.
• Establish product governance processes for prioritization, decision-making, change management, and launch readiness.
• Support product portfolio reviews and recommend adjustments based on business performance, customer needs, market conditions, and strategic priorities.
• Drive continuous improvement across product planning, delivery, launch, measurement, and post-launch operations.
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing product strategy and operations function as the organization expands.
• Maintain a high standard of product discipline, operational accountability, analytical rigor, and execution quality.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for an experienced product strategy and operations leader who can connect strategic product thinking with disciplined execution. You should be comfortable working with executives, product leaders, technology teams, and business stakeholders while managing complex priorities across the organization.
The strongest candidates will typically have:
• 20+ years of progressive experience in product management, product strategy, product operations, business operations, strategy, or a related field.
• Significant senior leadership experience overseeing product strategy, product operations, portfolio management, or product transformation.
• Demonstrated experience developing product strategies, roadmaps, operating models, and prioritization frameworks.
• Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, product operations, go-to-market planning, and performance management.
• Experience establishing product KPIs, dashboards, governance processes, operating reviews, and executive reporting.
• Strong analytical and business planning skills, including experience with financial modeling, business cases, and resource planning.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives involving Product, Engineering, Operations, Marketing, Finance, Compliance, and other teams.
• Strong understanding of customer needs, market dynamics, competitive positioning, and product performance.
• Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and executive influencing skills.
• Strong project and program management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously.
• Commercial judgment and the ability to balance customer value, business objectives, technical constraints, operational requirements, and risk.
• Experience building processes and organizational structure in a growing or changing business environment.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving organization with evolving priorities and complex dependencies.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, Economics, Management, or a related field required. MBA or other advanced qualifications are a plus.
Experience in financial services, fintech, banking, brokerage, trading, payments, technology, or digital assets is a plus, but it is not required.
We are also interested in candidates from SaaS, enterprise technology, B2B platforms, consumer technology, financial technology, and other product-driven organizations.
Location and Work Arrangement
This position is based in the United States. The company offers remote, hybrid, and on-site working arrangements depending on the individual, location, and business needs.
Travel may be required for executive meetings, product planning sessions, team meetings, partner discussions, industry events, and strategic initiatives.
