About the Opportunity:
The STAFF SECURITY ENGINEER role is focused on building and maintaining secure, production-level systems that protect sensitive health data. This position involves end-to-end ownership of technical security architecture, including threat detection and response, embedding security into software development, securing AI systems, and hardening cloud infrastructure. The role requires a blend of deep expertise and a broad technical skill set to implement scalable, AI-driven security solutions that support rapid organizational execution.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain detection and response platforms; manage log sources across cloud, containers, endpoints, and SaaS
Build and operate security automation and orchestration tools, including AI agents for alert triage
Lead incident response activities, including runbook development and post-incident improvements
Integrate security into the software development lifecycle with threat modeling and automated security tools
Manage vulnerability programs at host and application levels
Advocate for security-as-code practices within engineering teams
Design AI-powered security tools for threat detection and anomaly identification
Define security models and constraints for large language model (LLM) systems and AI tools
Evaluate security implications of AI tool adoption
Oversee AWS security posture and enforce baselines across infrastructure and enterprise SaaS
Collaborate with IT to secure corporate assets using AI-driven controls and automation
Engineer and manage endpoint security programs including EDR and DLP
Provide expertise in identity and access management architecture
Mentor junior and mid-level security engineers
Establish and promote security engineering standards
Work cross-functionally to align security priorities with operational needs
Requirements:
Strong software engineering or scripting skills in Python, Go, Typescript, or shell with experience in production-quality code
Expertise in one or more security domains: AI Security, Product Security, Detection & Response
Minimum of 8 years in security engineering with demonstrated technical leadership
Hands-on experience with SIEM tools such as DataDog
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
The pay range and compensation package for this role will be determined based on the candidate's experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
