2. About the Opportunity:
The Senior Systems Performance Analyst is responsible for managing and enhancing the performance of large-scale mainframe systems. This role ensures system health and efficiency by monitoring, analyzing, and recommending improvements, directly contributing to the reliability and effectiveness of critical business operations.
3. Responsibilities:
Utilize knowledge of large-scale operational and system concepts
Develop and maintain system performance reporting using MXG, SAS, and Splunk
Monitor daily system health to identify improvements and exceptions
Deliver recommendations for performance enhancements
Resolve system health issues and troubleshoot complex incidents
Research coupling facility performance and LPAR weights and capping
Participate in a 24x7x365 on-call rotation to support system performance and restoration
Work across multiple platforms including zOS and zLinux
Develop proofs of concept for new products and define organizational centers of excellence
Design and document technical solutions supporting complex business systems
Use AI tools daily to support efficient productivity
4. Requirements:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
10+ years of mainframe systems experience with performance management in multi-processor, multi-LPAR, Parallel Sysplex environments
2+ years of SAS programming experience
Familiarity with WLM, MXG, ThruPut Manager, SMF/RMF record structures, and statistical data
Experience with Omegamon system performance monitoring
Basic knowledge of zOS, JCL, and ability to modify batch jobstreams
Proficiency with TSO and ISPF
Knowledge of z/OS, z/VM, z/Linux, CICS, DB2, Strobe, and monitoring systems
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
Salary range from $112,700 to $193,200 annually based on full-time employment
Pay based on factors including local labor markets, education, experience, and certifications
