Position Summary
The Digital Scrum Master is responsible for leading Agile delivery practices across Banner Digital teams supporting customer-facing digital products, mobile applications, patient engagement platforms, scheduling solutions, digital forms, telehealth capabilities, and related digital initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a strong, highly assertive Scrum Master who can drive accountability and execution across multiple stakeholders.
The Scrum Master partners closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, Digital Business Leaders, Engineering teams, UX/UI Designers, Analytics teams, and enterprise stakeholders to remove impediments, improve team performance, manage dependencies, and drive predictable delivery outcom
What you will do:
Agile Delivery Leadership
Facilitate Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
Coach teams on Agile values, Scrum principles, and continuous improvement practices.
Ensure Agile processes are consistently followed and optimized.
Foster accountability, transparency, collaboration, and ownership.
Delivery & Execution
Support planning and execution of digital product roadmaps and strategic initiatives.
Track sprint commitments, delivery progress, risks, issues, and dependencies.
Partner with Product Managers and Product Owners to maintain healthy product backlogs.
Ensure user stories are properly defined, estimated, prioritized, and ready for development.
Facilitate release planning and roadmap execution.
PI Planning & SAFe Support
Support Program Increment (PI) Planning preparation and execution.
Coordinate cross-team dependencies and identify delivery risks.
Participate in Scrum of Scrums, ART-level planning, and enterprise Agile events.
Assist teams in defining objectives, commitments, and measurable outcomes.
Team Enablement & Coaching
Coach Product Owners, team members, and stakeholders on Agile best practices.
Promote self-organization and high-performing team behaviors.
Improve predictability, velocity, quality, and flow metrics.
Lead retrospectives and improvement initiatives.
Stakeholder Management
Communicate delivery progress, risks, and key decisions to leadership.
Facilitate collaboration across Digital, IT, Operations, Clinical, Revenue Cycle, Analytics, Cybersecurity, and Infrastructure teams.
Support executive reporting and governance activities.
Metrics & Continuous Improvement
Utilize Jira dashboards and Agile metrics to monitor team performance.
Analyze sprint metrics, throughput, burndown trends, flow efficiency, and delivery trends.
Develop improvement plans to enhance team maturity and delivery predictability.
Promote data-driven decision making.
What you will bring:
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Healthcare Administration, Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of Scrum Master, Agile Project Manager, or Agile Delivery Lead experience.
3+ years supporting Digital, Web, Mobile, Patient Experience, Consumer Engagement, or Healthcare Technology initiatives.
Experience facilitating Agile teams in fast-paced environments.
Strong understanding of Scrum, Kanban, Agile principles, and SDLC practices.
Experience using Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar Agile tools.
Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PSM, SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or SAFe Advanced Scrum Master (SASM).
Experience supporting healthcare digital products and consumer-facing applications.
Experience with PI Planning and SAFe Agile frameworks.
Knowledge of UX/UI, digital product development, analytics, and customer experience design.
Experience leading multiple Agile teams simultaneously.
