Mid-Level Engineer Pleno

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Mid-Level Engineer Pleno based in Brazil.
This is a mid-level data engineering role focused on building reliable and well-governed analytical data solutions. You will contribute to the development and maintenance of data models while ensuring information quality, consistency, and trustworthiness. The position involves building SQL-based transformation pipelines and working within a modern, decentralized Data Mesh architecture. You will collaborate closely with data engineering, product, and business teams to deliver scalable data solutions. The role provides hands-on exposure to technologies such as Delta Lake, Databricks, SQL, and Python. You will also contribute to Agile practices, code quality, peer reviews, and continuous improvement in a collaborative, data-driven environment.
Accountabilities
Develop and maintain analytical data models, ensuring data quality, governance, consistency, and reliability.
Build and maintain data transformation pipelines using advanced SQL.
Collaborate with data engineering, product, and business teams within a Data Mesh architecture.
Work with modern data platforms and technologies, including Delta Lake and Databricks.
Apply code versioning and repository management best practices, contributing to effective peer review processes.
Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, contributing to planning, collaboration, delivery, and continuous improvement.
Support the development of scalable and reliable data solutions while maintaining strong engineering and data management practices.
Contribute to initiatives involving modern data engineering approaches, including Infrastructure as Code and streaming workflows where applicable.
Requirements
Professional experience working with data engineering, analytical data models, or related data-focused engineering activities.
Knowledge of Delta Lake and Data Mesh concepts and architectures.
Advanced knowledge of SQL, with practical experience building data transformations and working with analytical datasets.
Basic knowledge of Python and its application in data engineering workflows.
Intermediate knowledge of Databricks.
Experience using code versioning systems and working with repositories and collaborative development practices.
Practical experience working within Agile methodologies and participating in Agile team ceremonies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to data quality, reliability, and governance.
Ability to collaborate effectively with data, engineering, product, and business stakeholders.
dbt experience is a plus.
Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform or Databricks Declarative Automation Bundles, is desirable.
Experience with streaming workflows is an additional advantage.
