The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.
The Paediatric Services team aim is to support parents and children, from early childhood through to teenage years to enhance family functioning and promote childhood development and parental wellbeing.
About the Role?
The Mental Health Clinician will work within a multidisciplinary team to support children 0 - 12 years, and families with mild to moderate mental health needs. This role supports the community through holistic and wrap around primary health and mental health care. Working in a team environment you will conduct culturally appropriate comprehensive assessments, treatment, and case management along with assertive outreach to meet the clients emerging mental health needs.
The role will be primary based within the MATSICHS region and requires travel across various clinic sites, including Caboolture, Morayfield, Strathpine, Deception Bay, and Margate.
Within this role, you will be required to:
Utilise knowledge, experience and clinical skills in comprehensive mental health assessment, clinical formulation and decision making.
Manage an appropriate caseload using effective time management and prioritisation skills, including clinical and non-clinical responsibilities and the maintenance of accurate client records and documentation.
Actively participate in professional and multidisciplinary team meetings including clinical case conference.
Utilise high level communication and interpersonal skills to achieve optimal client and service delivery outcomes, in addition to engaging clients and family in their care delivery.
About You?
Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)
Minimum three years’ relevant experience
For APHRA registered Clinicians
Relevant bachelor’s degree qualification
Current AHRPA registration
For non-AHPRA Clinicians
Relevant bachelor’s degree qualification with appropriate membership (ACA, AASW Etc.)
Current Blue Card
Current Criminal History Check
Desirable, but not mandatory:
Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
