The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.
The Quality and Innovation Unit provides leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of services, programs and models of care for improving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health and Well-being. The Unit oversees key functions of healthcare quality and safety, planning, public health, data and health information management, innovation in service design and development, digital innovation, and evaluation and research.
About the Role?
As Business Intelligence Analyst / Developer, your role is responsible for the development and evaluation of Business Intelligence (BI) solutions to support IUIH in utilising data for reporting, planning and decision making.
Your day-to-day duties will include:
Design and implement reliable, scalable and reusable data structures that support reporting, analytics, business intelligence and other organisational data requirements.
Apply an understanding of source systems, data flows and business processes to ensure data models accurately represent organisational requirements and maintain appropriate relationships, definitions and business rules.
Work with data analysts, business analysts, project managers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into appropriate data structures, models and analytical outputs.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of data pipelines, transformations and data integration processes across source systems, the IUIHs data platforms and downstream reporting products.
Contribute to the development of solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate and Power Apps, where these technologies support data workflows, business processes or information management requirements.
Identify and implement improvements to data quality, data consistency, performance, governance and reusability within the data environment.
Contribute to the documentation of data models, data flows, business rules, data definitions, lineage and other relevant technical and user documentation.
Provide advice and input into the ongoing development of the IUIH's data platform, including data inputs, structures, formats, integration approaches and analytical requirements.
About You?
Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)
Current Criminal History Check.
Demonstrated experience in SQL development and data modelling, including the ability to design, develop and maintain relational data models, views, tables and complex queries. Python experience preferred.
Demonstrated experience working with Microsoft and Azure cloud technologies (certification highly regarded), Including Power Apps, Power Automate, Azure SQL, Fabric, DevOps etc)
Strong analytical skills and experience with large health data sets, their complexity, and challenges.
Dashboard and report development experience (Tableau preferred)
Demonstrated ability to document data structures, processes, business rules and technical solutions.
Experience working in the health care sector, particularly working with routinely collected health data and associated data management standards.
Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, and an ability to understand data flows from user input to backend data collection.
Tertiary qualification (or experience) in in Data Analytics, Information Technology, Computer Science or similar.
Desirable, but not mandatory:
Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
