Role Description The Senior Design Engineer will lead the design and development of energy systems and related infrastructure for projects based in Mumbai. This full-time, on-site role involves preparing and reviewing engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications, and ensuring designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements. The individual will coordinate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, field engineers, and external stakeholders, to align design deliverables with project timelines and budgets. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting technical feasibility studies, resolving design issues, mentoring junior engineers, and participating in design reviews and risk assessments. The Senior Design Engineer will also support quality assurance, oversee documentation for regulatory approvals, and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and tools.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering design, including experience with engineering calculations, system layouts, and technical specifications.
Proficiency with relevant CAD and engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or equivalent design tools) and familiarity with modeling and simulation platforms used in energy projects.
Knowledge of industry standards and codes applicable to energy, power, or infrastructure projects, as well as practical understanding of safety, reliability, and compliance requirements.
Demonstrated ability to manage design deliverables across multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and the ability to clearly communicate technical information in written and verbal form.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field); a Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., PE, chartered engineer) are an advantage.
Several years of experience in design engineering roles within the energy, utilities, industrial, or infrastructure sectors, including experience in leading or reviewing design work.
Ability to work on-site in Mumbai and participate in occasional site visits, inspections, or client meetings as required by project needs.
