Environment, Health and Safety Manager

About the Role
A Steel & Power company is looking for an EHS professional to manage Environment, Health & Safety activities at our Barbil plant. The person will be responsible for ensuring statutory compliance, safety practices, environmental monitoring and effective implementation of EHS systems across the plant.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day EHS activities across the plant.
Ensure compliance with PCB, CTO/CTE, Factory Act and other statutory requirements.
Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure closure of observations.
Monitor ESP, Bag Filters, ETP, STP and CEMS compliance.
Track incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions.
Ensure proper implementation of PPE, work permits and safety SOPs.
Handle contractor safety and safety requirements during shutdown and project activities.
Drive 5S and housekeeping standards across the plant.
Maintain EHS records and support internal, external and statutory audits.
Conduct EHS training and safety awareness programs.
Lead and coordinate the EHS/Safety team and ensure timely completion of activities.
Requirements
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Chemical / Environmental Engineering preferred.
5–6 years of experience in EHS/Safety, preferably in steel, DRI, SMS, power or other heavy industries.
Experience in team handling is preferred.
Good understanding of statutory EHS compliance and plant safety practices.
Exposure to environmental systems such as ESP, Bag Filters, ETP, STP and CEMS will be preferred.
Strong communication, coordination and documentation skills.
Odia language is compulsory.
