Role Description The AI Engineer intern role at Weskill is a remote internship focused on supporting the design, development, and evaluation of AI-driven solutions for educational and training products. Day-to-day tasks may include implementing and testing machine learning models, experimenting with pattern recognition and neural network architectures, and assisting with natural language processing (NLP) features such as text classification or chatbots. The intern will collaborate with mentors and engineering teams to write clean, well-documented code, run experiments, analyze performance metrics, and iterate on prototypes. The role also involves conducting technical research, reviewing academic and industry literature, and exploring emerging AI tools and frameworks that can enhance the platform’s offerings.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Computer Science concepts, including algorithms, data structures, and basic software engineering principles.
Skills in Pattern Recognition and Neural Networks, with the ability to understand and implement core machine learning and deep learning techniques.
Experience or coursework in Natural Language Processing (NLP), such as working with text data, language models, or conversational systems.
Practical Software Development skills, including proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in AI (e.g., Python) and familiarity with version control tools.
Ability to learn quickly, work independently in a remote environment, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Current enrollment in an undergraduate program in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Familiarity with machine learning libraries or frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) and basic data handling tools is a plus.
Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and interest in applying AI to education and training.
