Description
The Senior Software Engineer is a full-stack individual contributor responsible for designing and building production-ready services and platform features for Claude Integration and Gen AI Platform Improvements. This role requires strong engineering depth, hands-on Python and front-end development, practical AWS knowledge, and the ability to design solutions from problem statements rather than only implementing pre-defined specifications.
A Typical Day In The Life Includes
Design and build production services and RESTful/async APIs in Python using FastAPI (or a comparable framework), plus corresponding front-end capabilities using Angular or a comparable JavaScript framework.
Build and integrate platform features using AWS services including Bedrock, SageMaker, Lambda, and EKS.
Integrate with the Anthropic Claude API and Model Context Protocol (MCP) as required by platform initiatives.
Contribute to AI Governance capabilities across explainability, observability, and prevention based on initiative priorities.
Own feature and component design within the assigned area, including approach, trade-offs, and technical recommendations.
Mentor engineers, review code, review designs, and help raise overall engineering quality.
Participate in effort estimation and challenge scope, assumptions, or estimates where warranted.
Basic Qualifications
Strong, demonstrated engineering experience shipping production software, with engineering depth as the primary gate ahead of GenAI-specific background.
Hands-on experience using an AI coding tool in daily development work, such as Claude Code, AWS Kiro, OpenAI Codex, or a comparable AI-assisted coding tool.
Proficiency in Python and full-stack development, including FastAPI (or a comparable Python web framework such as Flask/Django) for API development, Angular or a comparable JavaScript framework, and PostgreSQL or a comparable relational database.
Working knowledge of AWS services, including Bedrock, SageMaker, Lambda, and EKS.
Demonstrable exposure to LangChain, LangGraph, or a comparable agentic framework.
Comfort designing a solution from a problem statement, not only implementing a fully specified design.
Baseline AI literacy, including understanding how AI works, recognizing useful AI scenarios, directing AI effectively, evaluating AI outputs, and using AI responsibly.
Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience with the Anthropic Claude API and Model Context Protocol (MCP).
Prior work on systems with explainability, observability, or guardrail requirements.
Ability to balance speed, engineering quality, production readiness, and evolving GenAI platform needs.
Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform or CloudFormation) for deploying services to EKS/Lambda.
