Job Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Java Engineer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in building scalable, enterprise-grade backend applications. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain high-performance microservices, optimize system architecture, and drive software development best practices. You will collaborate closely with product managers, frontend engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver resilient, cloud-native solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Engineering
Design & Implement: Build low-latency, high-throughput microservices using Java 17+ and Spring Boot.
Database Architecture: Design and optimize relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) schema, indexing, and query performance.
API Development: Define, design, and maintain secure RESTful APIs and event-driven messaging pipelines (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
System Design: Contribute to architectural decisions, trade-off analyses, and service scalability strategies.
Quality & Operational Excellence
Code Quality & Testing: Maintain high standards of code hygiene using TDD, automated unit testing (JUnit, Mockito), and integration tests.
Performance Tuning: Diagnose bottlenecks, optimize thread pools, garbage collection parameters, and database query executions.
CI/CD & DevOps Integration: Author deployment configurations, containerize applications with Docker/Kubernetes, and manage automated pipelines (GitHub Actions / Jenkins).
Leadership & Ownership
Mentorship: Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and guide junior and mid-level engineers.
Agile Leadership: Participate actively in sprint planning, system design reviews, estimation, and technical documentation (Confluence/Jira).
Qualifications & Requirements
Must-Have Technical Skills
Core Java: 5+ years of professional development experience with Java 11 or Java 17+ (strong foundation in Multithreading, Concurrency, Collections, Streams, and JVM internals).
Frameworks: Extensive experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA / Hibernate, and Spring Security.
Database & Persistence: Strong proficiency in SQL database design/tuning and experience with NoSQL data stores.
Messaging & Event-Driven Systems: Hands-on experience with asynchronous messaging systems such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SQS/SNS.
Microservices Architecture: Practical experience with service discovery, API Gateways, distributed tracing, and fault-tolerance patterns (Resilience4j, Circuit Breaker).
Containerization & CI/CD: Experience with Docker, container orchestration (Kubernetes), and automated CI/CD workflows.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Cloud platform experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Familiarity with reactive programming frameworks (Project Reactor, Spring WebFlux).
Exposure to monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK Stack).
Basic understanding of frontend frameworks (Angular / React) for full-stack integration.
Soft Skills & Behavioral Traits

Clear written and verbal communication skills for presenting design ideas to cross-functional stakeholders.
