About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
The core responsibilities for the job include the following:
Positioning and packaging the core of the role:
Category language: what we are, what we are not, and what we stop claiming to own.
A message architecture across four personas that doesn't collapse into "we do everything. "
Packaging: what lands, what triggers the next module.
Positioning and launch for every module we ship.
Making it usable without a founder in the room:
The demo narrative, objection library, business case model, and proof pack.
Product copy across the app, website, and in-product surfaces.
Founder thought leadership, including ghostwriting.
Getting it to market:
Launch campaigns and lead generation across outbound, email, and WhatsApp.
SEO and the organic content engine, with LinkedIn as the primary social channel.
Events and workshops, and our PR and design agency relationships.
The third block is real work you will own, because we are small and there is nobody else to do it. But you will be hired and judged on the first.
Requirements:
The one thing we won't compromise on: you can explain something complicated in a sentence and be right.
You write well, and you write fast, and one narrative holds across a deck, a landing page, and a founder's LinkedIn post
You have run things end to end without a team, a budget, or a known brand behind you
You lead with story, but you are comfortable with the data underneath it
You will tell the CEO when the story doesn't hold up. We would rather be corrected than agreed with
You like ambiguity because the category is being defined in real time
Roughly 6 to 10 years of work behind you, but the last two matter most.
Backgrounds that tend to work: product marketing at a company that had to teach the market a new word; founder or early team at a B2B startup; strategy or investing in consumer and commerce, now wanting to build rather than analyze.
Backgrounds that usually don't: demand generation and campaign-led marketing; brand marketing at a CPG (we sell to CPG, which is not the same thing); agency side. This is not a pipeline role.
