Your place in the team
As an SAP EWM Functional Consultant, Interface Operations Support, you will be responsible for supporting warehouse management interfaces between SAP ECC, S/4HANA and connected warehouse systems operating in a coexistence environment. You will monitor and resolve interface and transaction failures across inbound and outbound warehouse processes, ensuring stock and warehouse transactions remain synchronised across systems.
You will work closely with client teams to investigate operational issues, identify root causes, correct data and status issues, and reprocess failed transactions. You will also support daily reconciliation activities between ECC and S/4HANA and ensure that operational incidents are accurately documented and progressed within agreed recovery targets.
Responsibilities
• Monitor and support interfaces between SAP ECC, S/4HANA and connected warehouse systems in a coexistence environment.
• Monitor and resolve failed, stuck or delayed warehouse transactions across inbound and outbound deliveries, goods receipts, goods issues and stock transfers.
• Monitor and troubleshoot IDocs, qRFC queues and Integration Suite messages to ensure successful transaction processing.
• Investigate root causes of interface and transaction failures, including data, status, routing and processing issues.
• Correct relevant data and status issues and replay or reprocess transactions, confirming successful posting in the target system.
• Perform daily ECC-to-S/4HANA reconciliation for stock and goods movements and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Work closely with client business and technical teams to identify and resolve operational issues and exceptions.
• Raise suspected defects and business issues to the appropriate client teams with clear evidence and supporting information.
• Maintain accurate operational logs, documenting incidents, root causes, corrective actions and resolution details.
• Work within agreed operational recovery targets, including 15–30 minutes for critical warehouse transactions.
• Support continuous improvement of interface monitoring, incident resolution and operational support processes.
• Follow established support processes and contribute to effective incident, problem and change management.
• Work collaboratively with onshore/offshore teams and client stakeholders to ensure continuity of warehouse operations.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in business, information technology, engineering or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
Essential Experience
• 8+ years of experience in SAP EWM or SAP WM, with strong hands-on functional support experience.
• Experience working on at least one SAP S/4HANA project.
• Hands-on experience supporting SAP EWM–ERP integration and warehouse-related interfaces.
• Strong understanding of warehouse processes including inbound and outbound deliveries, goods receipts, goods issues and stock transfers.
• Experience with Handling Units, delivery processing and stock reconciliation.
• Hands-on experience monitoring and troubleshooting IDocs and qRFC queues.
• Practical experience with SAP transaction codes such as WE02, WE19, SMQ1 and SMQ2.
• Experience investigating interface failures, correcting data and status issues, and reprocessing or replaying failed transactions.
• Experience performing stock and goods movement reconciliation between SAP systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and drive issues through to resolution.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with business and technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively in a shift-based, 24x7 support environment.
• Strong incident management and operational support mindset, with the ability to work against defined recovery targets.
