Role Description The Toothpaste Formulation R&D Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Gurugram. The specialist will design and optimize toothpaste formulations, including active ingredients, flavors, and functional additives, to meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting laboratory experiments, analyzing test results, maintaining detailed documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as quality assurance, manufacturing, and marketing. The role involves evaluating raw materials, performing stability and compatibility testing, and ensuring that formulations align with consumer preferences and brand standards. The specialist will also support scale-up activities, troubleshoot formulation issues during production, and contribute to continuous improvement and innovation in oral care products.
Qualifications
Strong background in formulation science, chemistry, or related discipline, with the ability to develop and optimize toothpaste or similar personal care products.
Hands-on experience in laboratory work, including sample preparation, testing, data analysis, and documentation following established protocols and safety standards.
Knowledge of cosmetic or pharmaceutical regulations, quality control practices, and stability testing relevant to oral care formulations.
Proficiency in using analytical instruments and tools commonly applied in R&D for personal care or FMCG products.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Cosmetic Science, or a closely related field.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and present technical findings clearly.
Prior experience in oral care, toothpaste development, or broader personal care product R&D is an advantage.
