About the Role
We are looking for a thoughtful, detail-oriented and research-minded individual to join our Curriculum Development Team as an Intern. You will build structured, accessible and context-sensitive curricula for CC's community-based programmes and workshops. These curricula are grounded in two things: findings from CC's Research and Needs Assessment Team, and established frameworks and evidence-based models such as UN frameworks, SEL (Social and Emotional Learning) frameworks and real-world case examples. You will adapt this material to different ages, needs and settings, and refine it using feedback from the facilitators who deliver it.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct research on mental health and psychosocial topics using credible sources
Work with the Research and Needs Assessment Team to translate community needs assessments, findings and literature reviews into curriculum content
Review and integrate existing frameworks, models and resources (such as UN frameworks, SEL frameworks and relevant case studies) so that curricula are evidence-based and well grounded
Develop structured curricula, session plans, activities and facilitator guidelines aligned with identified needs and established frameworks
Adapt content to different age groups, needs and community settings, with sensitivity to language, culture and accessibility
Review and revise existing workshop materials to improve clarity, relevance and impact
Reference all sources appropriately and maintain accuracy
Incorporate feedback from facilitators and the implementation team
Coordinate with the Research and Needs Assessment Team and the Workshop Facilitation and Trainings Department when required
Ensure all content follows ethical, respectful and non-stigmatising practices
Who Can Apply?
Students currently pursuing, and graduates who have completed, a degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education or a related field are especially encouraged to apply. Applicants from other academic backgrounds with a genuine interest in mental health education and content development are also welcome.
We are looking for someone who:
• Has strong research, writing and content-development skills
• Can simplify complex concepts without compromising accuracy
• Is curious about how people learn and about the contexts communities live in
• Pays close attention to detail and is open to feedback
• Can work independently and meet agreed timelines
• Is comfortable collaborating remotely
• Approaches content creation with empathy, respect and cultural sensitivity
Can read and synthesise research findings and turn them into practical, usable content
Is familiar with, or keen to learn, frameworks such as SEL and UN-based approaches to child, youth and mental health education
Is comfortable working across teams
Prior experience in curriculum design, workshop facilitation or psychoeducational content is a plus, but not required. Applicants may share relevant writing samples, coursework, lesson or session plans, or other work, if available.
