Director RD&E

This role co-owns the development of long-term business growth and innovation strategy by delivering innovative, differentiated Purification Technology programs across key Ecolab customer segments. The role plays an integral part in advancing RD&E programs for ion exchange and specialty resins used in industrial and regulated applications to separate, remove or recover very specific elements or compounds. This role requires management of both innovation activities related to new product development as well as technical plant and customer support activities such as process and margin improvement projects and used resin testing. The role has both global and local (China for China) elements.
The Director functions both strategically and tactically to develop a comprehensive innovation pipeline, maximize margin and resource efficiency, and build diverse, high-performing teams. The position reports to the VP RD&E China and partners closely with divisional leadership.
What You Will Do
· Develop and lead long-term innovation strategies and roadmaps aligned to business growth
· Own development and execution of major innovation and commercialization programs
· Build, lead, and develop diverse technical teams with strong succession planning
· Partner cross-functionally and globally with Marketing, Regulatory, Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain to execute key development projects and share best practices
· Partner cross-functionally and locally with Sales and Marketing to support customer needs within China
· Represent Ecolab with customers, academic partners, and industry organizations
· Drive safety culture and intellectual property development
Minimum Qualifications
· Master’s or Ph.D degree in chemistry, engineering, biology, or related discipline
· 5+ years of R&D technology leadership experience
· 3+ years leading and developing high-performance technical teams
· Demonstrated success commercializing new products or programs
· Experience developing and executing innovation roadmaps
· Preferred: Experience with regulated products
