Assistant Vice President – Operations (Data Annotation, Labeling & AI/ML Ops)

Role Summary
Lead end-to-end operations and delivery for data annotation, data labeling, and AI/ML data services. You will own client SLAs, annotation and labeling quality, throughput, and profitability across large, multi-site teams, using analytics and strong project management to scale delivery for AI/ML clients.
Key Responsibilities
Own day-to-day operations and delivery across annotation and labeling programs (image, video, text, speech, LLM/GenAI data such as RLHF and evaluation)
Lead and develop large teams through Senior Managers, Managers, and Team Leads
Drive annotation and labeling quality: guidelines, QA frameworks, inter-annotator agreement, audits, and rework reduction
Manage client relationships, SLAs, escalations, and quarterly business reviews
Plan capacity, hiring, and budgets; improve utilization, cost efficiency, and margin
Run program onboarding and delivery: pilots, ramp-ups, timelines, risks, and change management
Work with Tech and Data teams on annotation and labeling tools, workflow automation, and model-assisted labeling
Use data and dashboards (productivity, quality, TAT, attrition) to spot issues and drive continuous improvement
Partner with Sales, HR, and Finance on pricing inputs, growth plans, and compliance (data security, confidentiality)
Qualifications
16+ years of experience overall, with 10+ years in operations leadership
Proven experience running data annotation, data labeling, or AI/ML data operations at scale
Has managed large teams (100+) across multiple shifts or locations
Strong project management and analytics skills (Excel/SQL/BI tools)
Familiarity with annotation and labeling platforms and AI/ML workflows
Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
PMP / Prince2 / Lean Six Sigma is a plus
