Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Security Operations L3 Engineer to provide advanced operational support and technical leadership for enterprise security infrastructure in a multi-vendor, hybrid managed services environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling escalated security incidents, managing complex security configurations, supporting critical changes, and driving continuous improvement across security operations.
This role requires strong hands-on expertise in Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) technologies, with mandatory experience on Palo Alto, FortiGate, Cisco FTD, Versa, and Cisco SSE platforms.
Roles And Responsibilities
Incident & Escalation Management
Lead the resolution of security incidents, service requests, and operational escalations, ensuring timely response and closure within defined SLAs.
Act as the primary escalation point for Security L1 / L2 teams for complex security issues and advanced troubleshooting requirements.
Investigate and troubleshoot security infrastructure incidents, including Next-Gen firewalls, VPN, proxy, AAA, IDS/IPS, secure web access, and cloud-delivered security services.
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring and high-impact security incidents, implementing sustainable corrective actions.
Take responsibility during critical security incidents, major outages, and emergency response situations.
Security Operations & Technical Support
Provide advanced operational support for enterprise security environments across on-premises, branch, data center, internet edge, and hybrid architectures.
Manage and troubleshoot multi-vendor security platforms, ensuring policy integrity, service availability, and security posture alignment.
Support the implementation, troubleshooting, and optimization of NGFW, VPN, secure remote access, IDS/IPS, proxy, AAA, and cloud security controls.
Assist in advanced configuration and administration of security devices while ensuring compliance with organizational security standards and best practices.
Conduct quality assurance checks on security incident resolutions, policy changes, and configuration updates.
Monitoring, Governance & Risk Support
Monitor security infrastructure health, availability, logs, policy behavior, and performance trends.
Identify opportunities to improve security operations efficiency, policy effectiveness, and service resilience.
Support compliance and governance requirements by ensuring operational controls align with security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Assist in maintaining operational readiness for audits, compliance reviews, and security governance activities.
Change Management & Service Improvement
Play a key role in security change management, including technical review, risk assessment, approval support, implementation, and post-change validation.
Implement and oversee complex security policy changes, rule modifications, and secure access configurations.
Collaborate with internal teams to support security upgrades, migrations, policy cleanups, and technology refresh initiatives.
Identify and implement process improvements, standardization opportunities, and operational best practices within the security operations function.
Collaboration, Documentation & Client Communication
Collaborate with Security Architects, Network Teams, Engineering teams, vendors, and other internal stakeholders to resolve systemic issues and improve service delivery.
Maintain detailed documentation of incident handling, troubleshooting, security changes, operational procedures, and platform configurations.
Contribute to the development and enhancement of knowledge base articles, SOPs, and security runbooks.
Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders, providing clear updates on security incidents, service requests, and escalations.
Manage customer escalations professionally and work toward timely resolution.
Mentoring & Technical Development
Provide technical mentorship, coaching, and knowledge transfer to L1 and L2 security operations teams.
Participate in technical training, security awareness, and skill development initiatives.
Stay current with emerging security technologies, threat trends, and industry best practices.
Knowledge, Skills, And Experience Requirements
Mandatory Technical Skills
Platform Expertise: Strong hands-on operational experience on Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) platforms, including Palo Alto, FortiGate, Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD), and Versa / Cisco Secure Service Edge (SSE).
Core Security Technologies: Strong understanding of security technologies and controls, including VPN, IDS/IPS, AAA, Proxy Solutions, Secure Internet Access / Secure Remote Access, and Policy-based access control.
Operational Execution: Hands-on experience in security policy configuration, rule management, troubleshooting, and operational support.
Infrastructure Knowledge: Ability to configure and troubleshoot multi-vendor network security infrastructure in enterprise environments. Experience supporting hybrid managed services environments with integrated network and security architecture.
Processes: Strong understanding of security operations processes, incident response, change governance, and service management.
Preferred / Added Advantage
Exposure to SASE / SSE / Zero Trust security models.
Familiarity with secure access, cloud-delivered security, and internet edge security operations.
Understanding of networking fundamentals to support security troubleshooting in integrated environments.
Experience with security monitoring, policy analytics, and performance reporting tools.

Qualifications, Certifications, And Education Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Information Technology / Electronics / Telecommunications or equivalent.
Experience: 7–10 years of relevant experience in security operations / firewall operations / managed security services.
Preferred Certifications:
PCNSE, Fortinet NSE / FCP, Cisco Security Certifications, CCNP Security
