Senior Node.js Developer

Role Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Node.js Developer to join the Fitreat engineering team. The ideal candidate should have strong backend development experience, a solid understanding of software design principles, and the ability to collaborate effectively with architects and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
•⁠ ⁠Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and REST APIs using Node.js.
•⁠ ⁠Build and support backend solutions for mobile applications with a focus on performance and reliability.
•⁠ ⁠Collaborate with architects and technical leads to implement robust and maintainable solutions.
•⁠ ⁠Ensure adherence to coding standards, clean code principles, and design patterns.
•⁠ ⁠Participate in requirement analysis, technical discussions, code reviews, and sprint activities.
•⁠ ⁠Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.
•⁠ ⁠Work closely with frontend developers, QA engineers, DevOps, and product teams to deliver high-quality software.
•⁠ ⁠Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and technical excellence within the team.
Required Skills and Experience
•⁠ ⁠5+ years of experience in software development with significant experience in Node.js backend development.
•⁠ ⁠Strong experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs.
•⁠ ⁠Experience building backend services for mobile applications.
•⁠ ⁠Good understanding of software design patterns, SOLID principles, and coding standards.
•⁠ ⁠Experience building and maintaining scalable backend solutions.
•⁠ ⁠Experience working closely with architects and following established architecture guidelines.
•⁠ ⁠Hands-on experience with NestJS.
•⁠ ⁠Experience with ORM frameworks such as TypeORM, Prisma, or Sequelize.
•⁠ ⁠Good understanding of relational databases and database design principles.
•⁠ ⁠Experience implementing authentication and authorization mechanisms (JWT, OAuth, etc.).
•⁠ ⁠Experience with caching mechanisms such as Redis.
•⁠ ⁠Understanding of queue and background processing mechanisms using BullMQ, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies.
•⁠ ⁠Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
•⁠ ⁠Experience writing unit tests and integration tests using Jest or similar frameworks.
•⁠ ⁠Familiarity with Git, code review practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
•⁠ ⁠Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
•⁠ ⁠Strong team player with a proactive attitude and ownership mindset.
•⁠ ⁠Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working in iterative delivery environments.
Good to Have
•⁠ ⁠Full-stack development experience using React.js or Next.js.
•⁠ ⁠Experience with Docker and containerized deployments.
•⁠ ⁠Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
•⁠ ⁠Knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
•⁠ ⁠Experience with logging, monitoring, and observability tools.
•⁠ ⁠Understanding of API versioning, rate limiting, and security best practices.
•⁠ ⁠Exposure to event-driven architecture and messaging systems.
