Role Description The Screenwriter is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai, responsible for developing compelling scripts and screenplays for film, television, digital content, and branded projects. In this position, the Screenwriter will conceptualize story ideas, create character arcs, write dialogue, and structure narratives that align with project briefs and production requirements. Daily tasks include collaborating closely with directors, producers, and the creative team, revising drafts based on feedback, and adapting scripts to different formats and timelines. The role also involves conducting background research, staying updated on industry trends and audience preferences, and ensuring that all written content supports the visual and emotional tone of each production. The Screenwriter will contribute creatively across pre-production meetings and table reads, helping streamline the storytelling process from concept to screen.
Qualifications
Strong scriptwriting and scripting skills, with the ability to develop engaging narratives and authentic dialogue.
Proficiency in writing and structuring screenplays for films, web shows, and other visual media formats.
Understanding of video production processes and collaboration with directors, producers, and editors.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
Demonstrated creativity, storytelling ability, and familiarity with current trends in film and digital content.
Experience working in a production house or similar media environment; prior work in Mumbai or Indian film context is an advantage.
Bachelor’s degree in Film, Literature, Creative Writing, Mass Media, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Ability to work on-site full-time in Mumbai and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
