DevOps Engineer

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced DevOps Manager to own the scalability, security, and
reliability of our SaaS platform. This role will be responsible for designing world-class
infrastructure, implementing cutting-edge automation practices, leading cybersecurity
initiatives, and managing a large-scale sharded database environment. You will also mentor
and grow a small team of DevOps engineers, driving best practices across infrastructure,
CI/CD, and incident management.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Management
● Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure
for our SaaS platform.
● Manage and monitor cloud resources (AWS/GCP), ensuring optimal performance
and cost-effectiveness.
● Demonstrate a deep understanding of raw networking, including protocols, routing,
firewalls, and subnets, beyond what is managed by cloud providers.
● Configure and manage iptables for advanced network security.
Cyber Security
● Integrate security best practices throughout development and deployment pipelines.
● Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
● Implement and manage security tools and systems, including IDS/IPS, WAF, and
SIEM.
● Respond to, investigate, and mitigate security incidents.
Database Management
● Oversee the management, scaling, and performance tuning of sharded database
systems.
● Proven experience with sharded databases larger than 500 TB is required.
● Ensure strong data integrity, robust backup systems, and disaster recovery
processes.
Containerization & Orchestration
● Lead the management and optimization of Kubernetes clusters.
● Design and implement containerized deployment strategies.
● Ensure high availability, resilience, and fault-tolerance of containerized applications.
Automation & CI/CD
● Develop and maintain reliable and efficient CI/CD pipelines.
● Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and application deployment using
tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins.
● Promote a “you build it, you run it” culture across the engineering team.
Team Leadership
● Manage and mentor a small team of DevOps engineers.
● Foster a collaborative, innovative, and high-performance team environment.
● Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback for growth.
● Lead the on-call rotation and incident response efforts.
Qualifications
● Minimum of 2 years of experience in DevOps or a related field.
● Deep expertise in Kubernetes and container orchestration.
● Expert-level knowledge of raw networking (TCP/IP, DNS) with strong hands-on skills
in iptables.
● Demonstrated experience managing a sharded database larger than 500 TB.
● Strong background in cybersecurity, including threat modeling and incident
response.
● Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, or Go).
