2. About the Opportunity:
The Project Engineer – Design Team Lead role involves leading and managing a segment of the design team. This position focuses on team leadership, development, workload management, and driving continuous improvement across engineering disciplines. The role is critical for ensuring effective project execution and engineering initiatives.
3. Responsibilities:
Lead a team of approximately 8-11 designers.
Provide coaching and development through feedback, mentoring, and individual development plans.
Manage team workload, schedules, priorities, and resource allocation.
Communicate objectives, priorities, and goals to team members.
Coordinate team activities with the broader design team.
Support budget, training, and related team activities.
Build relationships with internal and external customers.
Prioritize work, resolve issues, and ensure timely deliverables.
Participate in continuous improvement and process enhancement initiatives.
Manage multiple priorities to meet team objectives.
Maintain project documentation and analysis records.
Analyze and resolve engineering issues reported through communication channels.
Participate in initiatives on metrics, mentoring, and organizational effectiveness.
Enforce engineering criteria and drawing standards.
Perform other assigned duties.
4. Requirements:
Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
Minimum five years of relevant experience.
At least three years of leadership experience including employee development and workload management.
Strong communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills.
Knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle equipment and related systems.
Experience with a high-level CAD system.
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
$82,900.00 - $134,300.00
The pay range reflects minimum and maximum target pay across all U.S. locations, with individual pay based on factors such as role scope, experience, education, skills, and team equity.
