Studio Boz is a small design and branding studio working between Mumbai and London. We make brand identities, packaging, print and websites for clients in art, jewellery, hospitality, consumer goods and tech startups.
We are looking for a freelance or full time motion designer to work with us project by project.
The work
Motion is part of the identities we design: how a logo is brought to life, how type moves, how a page loads. The jobs fall into four brackets:
Identity: logo builds, type behaviour, transitions for the brand guidelines
Web: interactions for sites built in Webflow and Framer
Social and launch: motion-led brand case studies, short films and reels from stills, renders and footage
Packaging and product: our print work in motion
What you'll do
Take a finished identity and work out how it moves
Animate screens, components and assets for websites
Cut and animate short films and reels
Write the motion section of brand guidelines
Who you are
Two or more years in motion design
Motion is your main thing, but you like to think about how a brand looks and feels as well as how it moves
A feel for timing, easing and restraint. Our clients are often subtle brands.
Strong with type. Most of our work is type-led
After Effects and Figma, plus whichever latest AI-assisted tools help you speed up your flow and give you more time to art direct.
Happy thinking and making: a rough idea to a finished piece
Quick, and not too precious about process. You know when a job needs weeks of craft and when it needs a good answer by Friday
The same care on the small jobs as the big ones
Low ego. You have a point of view and know when to hold onto it and when to let it go
A portfolio with brand and web motion in it, with some evidence of work inline with our studio's aesthetic.
