Role Description The sophis developer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Hyderabad. The developer will work on designing, implementing, and maintaining solutions using the Sophis platform, including configuration, customization, and integration with existing systems. Day-to-day activities include analyzing business and technical requirements, writing clean and efficient code, troubleshooting and resolving application issues, and optimizing system performance. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, participating in code reviews, ensuring adherence to quality and security standards, and contributing to documentation and knowledge sharing. The developer is expected to proactively identify improvements, support deployments, and maintain stable production environments.
Qualifications
Experience (3+ years) working with the Sophis platform or similar financial trading and risk management systems, including configuration and customization.
Strong programming skills in relevant languages (such as C++, Java, or Python) and experience with object-oriented design and software engineering best practices.
Solid understanding of capital markets, financial products (e.g., derivatives, equities, fixed income), and risk management concepts.
Experience with databases (SQL/relational databases), data modeling, and performance optimization.
Familiarity with integration technologies, APIs, messaging systems, and version control tools (e.g., Git).
Ability to analyze complex requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and produce clear documentation.
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with attention to detail and a focus on reliability and scalability.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in cross-functional teams and interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience in financial services or fintech environments, and prior work on production-critical systems, is an advantage.
