2. About the Opportunity:
The Senior Software Engineer, Test (Org Modeling) is responsible for designing and implementing robust quality assurance systems that empower development teams to confidently ship reliable software. This role impacts the organization by shaping testing strategies, building automation and tooling, and integrating quality processes across the software development lifecycle to improve performance, security, and resilience.
3. Responsibilities:
Design and develop end-to-end quality systems and scalable test frameworks.
Establish and maintain layered testing strategies including unit, integration, end-to-end, load, performance, security, contract, and chaos testing.
Participate in engineering squad activities such as planning, code reviews, and technical discussions to promote quality.
Lead performance and load testing efforts, including scenario design, execution, and monitoring.
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to create rapid feedback loops.
Monitor test outcomes, investigate failures, track defects, and collaborate with teams to resolve quality issues.
Promote contract and chaos testing to identify integration risks and system weaknesses.
Utilize AI-assisted tools to automate quality processes and enhance engineering workflows.
Continuously assess and improve testing tools, methodologies, and quality practices.
Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to ensure realistic and comprehensive test coverage.
4. Requirements:
Proven expertise in engineering maintainable and reliable testing systems.
Broad knowledge of testing methodologies across multiple layers including functional, integration, contract, performance, chaos, and security.
Strong programming skills with experience in languages such as C#, Java, or Python.
Experience designing and executing performance and load tests with analytical and monitoring capabilities.
Practical use of AI-assisted engineering or testing tools.
Strong troubleshooting skills with experience in observability and root cause analysis.
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD environments like GitHub Actions, TeamCity, or Jenkins.
Proficiency in SQL and data querying for backend validation and debugging.
Familiarity with API and contract testing across service boundaries.
Solid version control practices using Git.
Collaborative, proactive, and detail-oriented approach with ability to handle fast-paced and evolving environments.
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
Competitive salary: $122,200–$183,400 annually for Zone 1 locations (CA, CT, DC, MD, MA, NJ, NY, VA, and WA).
Competitive salary: $114,200–$171,400 annually for Zone 2 locations covering other U.S. locations.
Additional compensation includes annual bonus and equity.
Fully remote position with flexible work arrangements.
