About The Role
The Boeing Company is seeking an Application Software Engineer (Associate or Experienced) to join the Phantom Works Weapons team located in St. Charles, MO, within the St. Louis area. This team supports advanced weapons programs, including the Next Generation Cruise Missile initiative. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects that involve interdisciplinary collaboration, systems thinking, and innovative engineering. As part of this team, you will be instrumental in developing software solutions that enhance next-generation capabilities, emphasizing safety, security, and operational reliability. The position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance and Special Program Access, reflecting the sensitive and critical nature of the work involved.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in engineering, computer science, data science, physics, chemistry, or related fields. For the Associate level, a minimum of 2 years of related experience is preferred, while the Experienced level requires at least 5 years of relevant professional experience. An active U.S. Secret Security Clearance is highly desirable, with U.S. citizenship being a mandatory requirement for clearance eligibility. Ideal candidates will have proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, and C#, along with experience in Linux development, version control systems like Git, and network architectures involving TCP/UDP communication. Knowledge of software architecture, design methodologies, and development processes aligned with industry standards is essential. Additionally, familiarity with software testing, validation, and verification practices will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software across the entire lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry, safety, and regulatory standards.
Translate customer requirements into initial software design, developing interface definitions and system architecture.
Perform unit testing, integration testing, and participate in peer reviews to ensure software quality and reliability.
Support software system integration and testing activities, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
Create comprehensive software documentation to facilitate maintenance and future development efforts.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to develop innovative solutions for complex technical challenges.
Continuously seek process improvements and incorporate new technologies to enhance software development practices.
