Job summary:
Acrisure is seeking an experienced Transportation Adjuster – Bodily Injury to manage bodily injury and liability claims involving commercial auto, trucking, and transportation exposures. This role is responsible for investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and resolving claims while applying strong technical knowledge of coverage, liability, damages, and claims litigation.
The Transportation Adjuster will independently manage a high-volume caseload of attorney-represented files, including non-litigated and litigated bodily injury claims. This individual will maintain ownership of claims throughout the lifecycle, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, participate in claim reviews and client meetings, and provide technical claims guidance to other adjusters when appropriate.
The ideal candidate brings extensive commercial transportation bodily injury experience, including experience within a TPA environment. Success in this role requires strong judgment, organization, negotiation skills, and the ability to confidently manage complex claims while maintaining effective relationships with clients, claimants, attorneys, and other business partners.
Responsibilities:
Manage non-litigated and litigated bodily injury and liability claims involving commercial auto, trucking, and transportation exposures
Independently manage a caseload of approximately 100 to 120 attorney-represented files
Investigate claims, evaluate coverage and liability, assess damages, establish appropriate claim strategies, and negotiate settlements
Maintain accurate claim diaries, file reviews, reserves, and detailed documentation throughout the life of each claim
Apply commercial auto and trucking insurance principles, regulatory requirements, and applicable claims handling standards
Coordinate with attorneys and other stakeholders on litigated claims and support appropriate litigation strategies
Provide technical guidance to other adjusters regarding commercial auto claims, including bodily injury, liability, and related physical damage exposures
Participate in weekly and quarterly claim reviews, client meetings, and other claims discussions
Collaborate with clients, claimants, attorneys, vendors, and internal teams to support timely and appropriate claim outcomes
Maintain compliance with company policies, client requirements, and applicable multi-state claims regulations
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and claimants, including participating in onsite customer visits when needed
Travel to mediations, trials, or other claim-related events as required
Manage claims independently while maintaining professionalism in challenging or complex situations
Perform additional duties and projects as assigned
Requirements:
10+ years of experience handling heavy commercial auto, trucking, transportation bodily injury, or similar complex liability claims required
Experience working in a third-party administrator (TPA) environment required
Strong experience handling bodily injury and liability claims involving commercial transportation exposures
Experience managing attorney-represented claims and high-volume claim inventories required
Exposure to litigated claims and a strong understanding of the litigation process required; direct litigation handling experience preferred
Strong knowledge of commercial auto and trucking insurance, liability evaluation, damages, coverage, negotiation, and settlement practices
Understanding of multi-state good faith claims handling practices and applicable regulatory requirements
Ability to independently manage a caseload of approximately 100 to 120 files ranging from moderate to complex exposures
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to evaluate complex claims and develop appropriate resolution strategies
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with attorneys, claimants, clients, and other stakeholders
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Ability to provide technical claims guidance and support to other adjusters when appropriate
Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, claimants, and business partners
Proficiency with claims management systems and basic computer applications, with the ability to quickly learn new technology
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgment in complex or challenging situations
Ability to travel occasionally for client visits, mediations, trials, or other claim-related needs
Education and licenses:
High school diploma or equivalent required
College degree beneficial
Active adjuster license required
Multi-jurisdictional adjuster licensing beneficial

Pay Details:
The base compensation range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000. This range reflects Acrisure's good faith estimate at the time of this posting. Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.
Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
