Industrial Electrical & Instrumentation Technician
Where you’ll work: These roles are based out of our Florida plants and mines
New Wales facility in Mulberry, FL
Four Corners/Wingate Mine in Bradley, FL or Duette, FL
Work Arrangement: Onsite
This position may operate on a rotating 12-hour shift schedule that can include seven consecutive days off during a 28-day cycle, providing extended time for personal pursuits, family, travel, and recovery between rotations.
About the Role
As an Industrial Electrical & Instrumentation Technician at Mosaic, you'll play a critical role in keeping some of North America's largest mining and processing operations running safely and reliably. From troubleshooting motors, drives, PLCs, and instrumentation systems to supporting automated production equipment that helps feed the world, you'll work on complex industrial systems where your expertise directly impacts production, safety, and operational performance. What You'll Do:
Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and install industrial electrical equipment, including motors, motor controls, MCCs, starters, drives, and power distribution systems.
Maintain and repair low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical systems, including common plant voltages such as 480V and 4,160V.
Diagnose and resolve issues involving instrumentation, automation, and process control systems.
Calibrate, maintain, and repair instruments used to monitor flow, pressure, temperature, density, and other critical process variables.
Support and maintain PLC, automation, and control system interfaces used throughout plant and mining operations.
Respond to planned maintenance activities, corrective repairs, and emergency equipment breakdowns.
Review and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, manuals, and technical documentation.
Communicate with operations and maintenance teams to prioritize work and maximize equipment reliability.
Document maintenance activities and equipment history using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Follow all safety procedures and permit requirements while performing maintenance activities.
What You'll Need:
4+ years of experience in an industrial electrical environment or completion of an accredited electrical program.
Experience troubleshooting heavy industrial electrical equipment, including wiring and building motor controls from scratch.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to accept and follow all safety procedures.
Ability to safely move in and through work areas, including climbing stairs, maintaining good balance, staying mentally alert, using good visual acuity, and safely working at heights.
Ability to safely work in and around a heavy industrial environment, including moving objects, concentrated chemicals, and transport vehicles.
Ability to complete Pre-Job Workplace Examinations.
Responsibility for the safe and compliant storage, inspection, and use of tools and equipment.
Bonus Points If You Have the Following:
High school diploma or GED.
IBEW apprenticeship experience.
Heavy industrial instrumentation experience.
Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) programming or software.
