Executive Vice President of Product Management (EVP Product Management)
1. Position Overview
The executive vice president of product management is responsible for the company's overall product management strategy, product portfolio planning, product life cycle management and product commercialization.
This position coordinates the complete product management system from market demand, product strategy, product planning, R&D collaboration, product release to life cycle management, coordinates product, technology, R&D, design, marketing, sales and customer teams to ensure that product strategy is consistent with the company's overall strategy, market demand and business goals.
2. Main responsibilities
1. Product Management Strategy
Formulate the company's overall product management strategy and long-term product development plan.
Establish product management system, product governance mechanism and management standards.
Ensure product strategy is consistent with corporate strategy, market demand and business goals.
Timely adjust product strategies according to market and business changes.
2. Product Portfolio Management
Responsible for the company's overall product portfolio and product line planning.
Evaluate the market performance, growth potential and commercial value of different products.
Optimize product resource allocation and product investment priorities.
Promote the development of high-potential products and the optimization or exit of inefficient products.
3. Product planning and roadmap
Develop enterprise-level product roadmaps and product development plans.
Prioritize products based on customer needs, market trends and technical capabilities.
Manage product versions, features and long-term development direction.
Ensure product roadmap is aligned with R&D and commercial plans.
4. Market and customer demand analysis
Research industry trends, market changes, and competitive landscape.
Analyze customer needs, user behavior and product feedback.
Establish market and customer insight systems.
Translate market demand into product opportunities and product planning.
5. Product R&D collaboration
Work with R&D, engineering and technical teams to drive product development.
Establish a coordination mechanism between product requirements, technology development and business goals.
Monitor the progress of key product research and development projects.
Resolve major cross-functional issues during product development.
6. Product innovation and new product development
Drive new products, features and product innovation projects.
Evaluate opportunities for new technologies to be implemented in products.
Establish a mechanism for product innovation and proof of concept.
Promote innovative products from concept, development to commercialization.
7. Product commercialization
Develop product launch and commercialization strategies.
Coordinate product launch plans with sales, marketing and business development teams.
Support product pricing, market positioning and business model design.
Track market performance and business results of new products after launch.
8. Product life cycle management
Manage the complete life cycle of a product from planning, development, launch to exit.
Continuously evaluate product revenue, profits, market share, and customer usage.
Develop product upgrade, optimization, expansion and exit strategies.
Improve business value during the product life cycle.
9. Product Performance Management
Establish enterprise-level product KPI and performance evaluation system.
Track product revenue, user growth, market share, and profitability.
Analyze gaps between product performance and strategic goals.
Drive product strategy and resource allocation adjustments based on data.
10. Cross-departmental product governance
Establish a collaboration mechanism between product, R&D, technology, design, sales and marketing.
Responsible for major product decisions and product priority management.
Promote product management process standardization.
Resolve resource and decision-making conflicts in major product projects.
11. Product organization and talent management
Build a global or enterprise-wide product management organization.
Manage VP of Product, Director of Product and Senior Product Owner.
Establish a product manager talent training, performance evaluation and career development system.
Develop product management teams with business, technical and user mindsets.
12. Senior management decision support
Report product strategy and product operating performance to the CEO, President, CPO and Board of Directors.
Provide product portfolio, market trends and competitive analysis.
Provide decision support for product investment, R&D resource allocation and strategic projects.
Participate in major product and business strategic decisions of the company.
3. Job requirements
Bachelor degree or above in business administration, marketing, computer science, engineering, product design, economics or related major.
Have experience in product management, product strategy or product organization management in large enterprises.
Experience in managing complex product portfolios and multiple product lines.
Familiar with product strategy, market analysis, product planning and life cycle management.
Have collaborative experience in product development, commercialization and marketing.
Have strong data analysis, business analysis and product decision-making capabilities.
Candidates with experience in managing cross-departmental, cross-regional or global product organizations are preferred.
Applicants familiar with technology, software, hardware, semiconductor, medical or other complex product industries are preferred.
Possess excellent strategic planning, leadership and senior management communication skills.
MBA, technical master's degree or related advanced degree preferred.
