About the Department
Internal Medicine is a 20-bed unit with a patient population composed of complex adult medical patients. Common diagnoses are diabetes, gastrointestinal disorders, heart failure, pneumonia, chronic pulmonary disorders and liver disease. The unit’s mission is to provide compassionate quality care focusing on the unique needs of patients and their families. The team regularly works on improving the safety of patients and the quality of care.
Role Overview
As a Nurse Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and care of our patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Your contributions will directly support the RN in delivering high-quality patient care, responding to emergent situations, and fostering a compassionate healthcare environment.

What You Will Do
Assist in meeting the safety and comfort needs of patients under RN supervision.
Provide input to help plan and implement patient care.
Respond to emergent situations according to established procedures.
Participate in continuing education to enhance your skills and knowledge.

What You Will Need
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Completion of a Nurse Assistant program (e.g., Patient Care Technician or Patient Assistant Technician) OR currently enrolled in a nursing program with successful completion of Fundamentals of Nursing OR foreign trained and licensed RN without a Michigan RN license OR Medical Assistant program with or without experience OR at least one year of previous experience in a similar role.
Complete BLS Heart Saver Certification during orientation.
Preferred Qualifications
CNA certification preferred.
