AI Data Migration Engineer

HapiVet is building an AI-native practice management platform for veterinary clinics. Every clinic that switches to us brings years of records from the system it is leaving. If that data comes over cleanly, the clinic goes live happy. If it doesn't, we lose them.
You'll own that problem. You'll build AI agents and workflows that pull data out of legacy practice management systems, map it, clean it, and load it into HapiVet. Then you'll run them yourself on live migrations, several every week, and keep making them faster and more accurate. You'll work directly with our founder on architecture, and you'll be the person who makes it all work in practice.
What you'll do
Reverse-engineer old, poorly documented databases and exports, and work out how each one actually stores its data
Build agent-driven workflows for extraction, schema mapping, transformation, validation, and loading
Run multiple clinic migrations every week and own each one end to end, with nothing lost and nothing duplicated
Write reconciliation checks that prove every migration is correct
Turn each new source system into a repeatable playbook, so the next clinic on it is faster than the last
Work with our onboarding team when data is missing, messy, or contradictory
What we're looking for
3–5 years of hands-on data engineering, with real data migration projects in production
Deep database knowledge. You're fluent in SQL and relational modeling, comfortable in PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MySQL, and unfazed by legacy or on-prem databases and raw dumps
You use AI agents every day to get real work done, and you've built workflows around them
An obsession with data correctness. You check row counts before anyone asks
Any programming language is fine. We care about how well you know data, not which syntax you use
Healthcare or practice management data experience is a plus
Compensation: ₹18–28 LPA, based on experience.
