Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Software Architecture Lead to support a large-scale enterprise modernization program. The role will lead the definition and evolution of target architecture, with a strong focus on microservices, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), API architecture, cloud platforms, and modern application engineering.
The successful candidate will work closely with global delivery teams, engineering leaders, product stakeholders, and technical specialists to define scalable, secure, and resilient architecture solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Define and lead target-state software architecture for modernization initiatives.
Develop architecture strategies and roadmaps aligned with business and technology objectives.
Design microservices-based architectures and distributed systems.
Apply Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles to complex enterprise applications.
Define API architecture, integration patterns, and service interfaces.
Design scalable and resilient solutions across cloud and hybrid environments.
Provide architectural guidance to development and engineering teams.
Establish and enforce architecture standards, principles, patterns, and best practices.
Evaluate existing legacy applications and define modernization and migration strategies.
Collaborate with global delivery teams across different locations and time zones.
Conduct architecture reviews, technical assessments, and design walkthroughs.
Identify technical risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement.
Support technology selection, proof-of-concepts, and solution evaluations.
Drive technical excellence across engineering teams and modernization workstreams.
Ensure solutions meet requirements for security, scalability, performance, availability, and maintainability.
Produce architecture documentation, including HLDs, solution designs, architecture diagrams, and technical roadmaps.
Required Skills & Experience
10+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture, with significant experience in architecture leadership.
Strong experience designing enterprise-scale distributed systems.
Hands-on expertise with Microservices Architecture.
Strong knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and architectural patterns.
Extensive experience with REST APIs, API gateways, integration patterns, and event-driven architecture.
Strong understanding of cloud architecture and cloud-native application development.
Experience with one or more major cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
Strong knowledge of Java/.NET or other enterprise application technologies.
Experience with containers and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Strong understanding of databases, messaging systems, caching, and distributed data architectures.
Experience working on legacy modernization, application transformation, or migration programs.
Strong understanding of security, scalability, resiliency, observability, and performance engineering.
Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with event-driven architecture and platforms such as Kafka.
Experience with API Management platforms.
Knowledge of cloud-native architecture and DevOps practices.
Experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and automated deployment.
Familiarity with TOGAF or other enterprise architecture frameworks.
Experience working in large global transformation or modernization programs.
Relevant cloud or architecture certifications are an advantage.
