THE ROLE
We are seeking a strategic, hands-on VP, Finance to join our leadership team at a pivotal stage of growth. As a venture-backed Series B company, we are scaling rapidly — expanding our team, refining our go-to-market engine, and building operational foundations for long-term success.
The VP, Finance will serve as both a strategic thought partner to the CEO and executive team, as well as architect of a world-class finance organization. This is an ideal role for a finance leader looking to build a scalable finance function and grow into a CFO-level position as the business scales.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP & STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP
- Shape company strategy through a financial lens alongside the CEO and executive team
- Drive data-informed decision-making across Product, Engineering, GTM, People, and Operations teams
- Translate complex financial data into clear insights guiding investment, headcount, pricing, and resource allocation
- Own financial readouts to board and investors
FINANCIAL PLANNING & CAPITAL STRATEGY
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning
- Develop financial models supporting growth initiatives, M&A evaluation, and capital allocation
- Partner with CEO on fundraising strategy and investor diligence
- Monitor key financial metrics (ARR, CAC, LTV, burn, Magic Number, Credit Burndown) for sustainable scaling
- Manage treasury function, banking relationships, and working capital optimization
BUILD & SCALE THE FINANCE ORGANIZATION
- Recruit and develop a top-tier finance and accounting team
- Design organizational structure that scales with company growth and complexity
- Develop future finance leaders and foster culture of continuous learning
FINANCE SYSTEMS, PROCESSES & INFRASTRUCTURE
- Design and implement scalable financial systems, reporting tools, and processes for Series B+ environments
- Drive automation and operational efficiencies across billing, revenue recognition, reporting, and planning
- Build data governance and integrate finance systems with company-wide infrastructure
- Establish internal controls and compliance frameworks for Series C, international expansion, and IPO readiness
ACCOUNTING, RISK & GOVERNANCE
- Oversee all accounting operations: general ledger, revenue recognition, AP/AR, payroll, and close processes
- Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP
- Develop enterprise risk management framework and governance structures
- Manage audit processes and external accounting relationships
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, with significant time in venture-backed, high-growth startups (Series A–C preferred)
- Proven track record of building and scaling high-performing finance and accounting teams with career development pathways
- Deep expertise in financial planning, forecasting, and growth modeling in scaling companies
- Strong understanding of AI credits-based and recurring revenue business models and unit economics
- Experience partnering with executive teams, presenting to boards and investors
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable financial systems, processes, and infrastructure
- Strong accounting foundation with expertise in revenue recognition, internal controls, and financial operations
- Highly analytical with ability to simplify complexity, influence cross-functional teams, and communicate to non-financial audiences
- Hands-on, low-ego leader comfortable operating strategically and tactically with genuine interest in developing others
AS A PLUS
- Experience leading finance through Series C or later-stage fundraising
- Banking relationship management and treasury function experience
- Exposure to IPO readiness, SEC reporting, or international finance operations
- Familiarity with modern fintech solutions, data analytics platforms, and RPA/automation in finance
- CPA and/or MBA highly preferred
