As a Software Engineer at Hiredbuddy, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications that meet our clients' needs. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate requirements into reliable and scalable code. Your day-to-day tasks will include writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code, debugging and fixing issues, and participating in code reviews to ensure quality. You will also have the chance to explore new technologies and contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes.
Our tech stack includes modern JavaScript frameworks such as React and Node.js, along with Python, SQL, and cloud platforms like AWS. We value agile methodologies and encourage a culture of continuous integration and delivery. You will be expected to write unit tests, collaborate on API design, and maintain existing codebases. While we don't require prior professional experience, a strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming is essential. This is a fully remote role, but you must be based in the New York, NY area to occasionally attend team meetups or client visits. Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
Solid understanding of programming fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design
Proficiency in at least one programming language such as JavaScript, Python, Java, or C++
Basic knowledge of web development (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript) and RESTful APIs
Familiarity with version control systems like Git
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Eagerness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing requirements
Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage time effectively
Up to 2 years of professional experience (including internships) preferred but not required
