Designer Volunteer

Responsibilities:
1. Design and develop professional PCB schematics and layouts, translating electrical requirements into accurate, functional, and manufacturable circuit boards.
2. Create and manage accurate component libraries, footprints, symbols, and 3D PCB models, ensuring every component is correctly represented and properly fits the physical board.
3. Handle component placement, routing, layer stack-up, power and signal routing, clearances, and design constraints, while considering electrical performance, thermal requirements, and mechanical limitations.
4. Perform thorough Design Rule Checks (DRC), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and design reviews to identify errors before fabrication and reduce costly PCB revisions and failed prototypes.
5. Prepare complete manufacturing documentation and production files, including Gerber/ODB++ files, drill files, BOMs, assembly drawings, and other documentation required to fabricate and assemble the PCB.
6. Support PCB prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and design iterations, working with the engineering team to identify issues in physical boards and refine the design until it meets the required specifications.
