Unit Clerk - Surgery Clinic
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under the supervision of the Clinic Nurse Manager or Clinic Administrator, assists in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the activities on the nursing unit by performing clerical and receptionist duties and maintaining the physical environment of the area.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
1. Provides team support services that result in patient and family satisfaction.
2. Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence consistent with hospital-wide unit-specific standards.
3. Completes and maintains all yearly competency monitors and mandatory training within defined timeframe (i.e. safety, annual in-services, corporate compliance, and confidentiality).
4. Demonstrates an ability to remain calm, professional, and productive in a fast-paced environment.
5. Handwriting is legible.
6. Attends unit meetings.
7. Demonstrates competence in specified computer applications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Uses office equipment efficiently (i.e. telephone, fax, copy machine, computer, printer).
2. Works consistently as a team member.
3. Demonstrates effective communication strategies in dealing with patients and hospital personnel.
4. Successful completion of Nursing Services orientation and in-service requirements.
5. Familiarity with computers.
6. HS diploma or GED.
