Senior Project Manager

As a Senior Project Manager within the PMO, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of
complex U.S. healthcare programs spanning operations, technology, compliance, and client delivery. You
will serve as the primary project leader, partnering with internal teams and external clients to ensure
successful implementation and operational readiness while maintaining the highest standards of
governance and regulatory compliance.
This is a highly visible role requiring exceptional leadership, executive presence, and the ability to build
credibility with clients and senior leaders. The successful candidate will demonstrate outstanding
communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills while leading complex healthcare
implementations within highly regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities:
● Lead complex, cross-functional healthcare implementation and operational initiatives from project
initiation through successful transition to operations and project closure.
● Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive project plans, schedules, milestones, budgets,
resource plans, and critical path dependencies to ensure successful delivery.
● Establish and drive project governance by ensuring adherence to PMO methodologies,
standards, and delivery best practices while promoting consistency across the portfolio.
● Facilitate project governance activities, including project kickoffs, status meetings, steering
committees, executive reviews, and decision-making forums.
● Serve as the primary point of accountability for project execution, acting as the trusted liaison
between clients, executive sponsors, and cross-functional delivery teams.
● Build and maintain strong partnerships with executive leadership, clients, and key stakeholders
through transparent communication and proactive engagement.
● Effectively manage stakeholder expectations by anticipating needs, resolving issues, and
ensuring alignment on project objectives, priorities, and delivery outcomes.
● Prepare and deliver concise, executive-level presentations, status reports, and recommendations
that support informed decision-making.
● Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams across Operations, Technology, Product, Quality,
Client Services, and other business functions to ensure successful project execution.
● Drive accountability across project teams by proactively managing deliverables, timelines,
interdependencies, and resource commitments.
● Proactively identify project risks, dependencies, and potential obstacles, implementing mitigation
strategies before they impact project objectives.
● Maintain comprehensive RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies) and ensure
timely communication, ownership, and resolution of project challenges.
● Manage project scope through disciplined change control processes, evaluating impacts to
timeline, budget, resources, and client commitments.
● Escalate critical risks and issues with well-defined recovery plans, actionable recommendations,
and clear executive communication.
● Develop and maintain executive dashboards, project health reports, KPI tracking, and portfolio
reporting to provide accurate visibility into project performance.
● Monitor project financials, resource utilization, schedule performance, and delivery metrics to
ensure projects remain on track and within approved parameters.
● Ensure all project documentation is complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with PMO
governance standards and regulatory requirements.
● Support portfolio planning, resource forecasting, and executive portfolio reviews by providing
accurate project data, capacity insights, and delivery recommendations.
● Contribute to the continuous evolution of the Enterprise PMO by developing and enhancing
methodologies, governance processes, templates, and delivery standards.
● Identify opportunities to improve project delivery, operational efficiency, and organizational
maturity through process optimization and lessons learned.
● Mentor and coach junior project managers by sharing best practices, promoting project
management excellence, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
● Champion a culture of accountability, collaboration, and delivery excellence while ensuring
exceptional client experiences and successful business outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
● PMP Certification (required) — certification must be current and maintained in accordance with
PMI requirements
● Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
● 8+ years of Project Management experience leading complex U.S. healthcare programs from
initiation to closure.
● Proven ability to lead through ambiguity — makes sound decisions with limited information,
adapts quickly to evolving priorities, and brings structure where none exists
● Strong understanding of the U.S. healthcare ecosystem, including payer, provider, PBM, specialty
pharmacy, care management, or patient support services.
● Demonstrated experience leading client-facing implementation projects.
● Hands-on experience working within HIPAA-compliant environments.
● Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities.
● Experience leading cross-functional teams in highly regulated environments.
● Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid).
● Advanced experience with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite.
● Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and executive communication skills.
● MBA (preferred)
● PMI-ACP Certification (preferred)
● Six Sigma Black Belt Certification (preferred)
