Overview
As a Market Risk Manager covering Rates, you will ensure the effective risk management and oversight US Rates business which includes a variety of sub-businesses such as Repo, Treasuries, Swaps, Options, Exotics, RMBS and Munis. You will join a team of risk managers sitting on the trading floor and directly coordinating with traders and other business partners to help support business expansion initiatives, daily risk management, help with risk appetite calibrations, improve framework and reporting and strive for efficiency and streamlining of processes. You will provide independent challenge and clear risk insight to senior stakeholders, supporting informed decisions across the US Rates franchise.

What You’ll Do
Developing, implementing, and maintaining risk control framework for the US Rates business
Daily monitoring of risk, stress and Value-at-Risk (VaR) exposures, ensuring risk completeness and accuracy (for example by monitoring closely and understanding the P&L drivers every day
Developing and implementing new stress testing analyses to better quantify the different risks that the desk runs
Keeping abreast of latest news and possible implications to the markets and the positions that the desk runs
Ensuring internal and external governance policies are being effectively applied
Liaising with trading desks with respect to exposures, new business and market activity and driving risk management infrastructure development
How You’ll Lead
Influence senior stakeholders across Trading, Finance, Technology, and other control functions to deliver sound risk decisions
Drive continuous improvement of risk frameworks, analytics, reporting, and governance processes
Develop team capability through coaching, knowledge sharing, constructive challenge, and clear accountability
Skills You’ll Need
Extensive experience in market risk management, trading, structuring which involves understand of market risks
Experience and understanding of rates products – Repo, Treasuries, Swaps, Options, Inflation, RMBS, Munis, Affordable Housing Loans etc
Critical thinking with ability to understand and analyse large amount of data and think outside the box
High standards of integrity and a commitment to ‘doing the right thing’ i.e. ability to challenge the Business
Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, working with a variety of teams, communicating well and concisely
Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimize workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under time pressure

Expectations
It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $125,000 to $222,500. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
